Typical usages of E4Coder

E4Coder can be used for Hardware In The Loop, Software In The Loop, Rapid Control Prototyping and Component In The Loop

E4Coder can be used in various ways, including:
  • Software In The Loop
    Where the control algorithm is tested within a simulated environment model but without any hardware (i.e. no sensors, actuators). Once the control algorithm is ready, the code can be generated for the target microcontroller using E4Coder.
  • Rapid Control Prototyping
    Where the control algorithm is generated for a (powerful) hardware target using E4Coder. The hardware target then interacts directly with the plant allowing a rapid tuning of the algorithm parameters.
  • Hardware In The Loop
    Where the control algorithm runs on the target hardware, interacting with a simulation of the I/O signals generated by a plant model running on a PC hardware. The code for both the target control algorithms and the plant model on the PC can be generated by E4Coder.
  • Component In The Loop
    Where the control algorithm runs on the target hardware, interacting with a rather complete simulation of the plant running on a PC hardware. The code for both the target control algorithms and the plant model on the PC can be generated by E4Coder.
